About the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS)
The NDIS (National Disability Insurance Scheme) is a disability scheme that provides people with disabilities funding for necessary hearing services. This funding can be used towards their disabilities which also includes hearing loss. Through the NDIS services, Australians under the age of 65 who have a permanent and relevant disability are aptly provided with all the necessary support required to lead a normal life.
Those eligible for the NDIS services can receive funding for assistive technology (AT) as a part of their NDIS plan. In addition, they also receive hearing aids as a part of the Commonwealth Government's Hearing Services Program (HSP).
It is worth noting that the hearing aids received from the HSP are fully subsidised, which means that there is no cost involved in availing the hearing aids.
As a part of your NDIS plan management with Hearing Aids' Professional, we cover the cost for the maintenance of your hearing aid and the batteries. The annual amount payable would be funded in your NDIS plan. Needless to say, all the AT supports will be put up on an individual basis and is aptly financed as a core part of the NDIS plan.
